Raiders of the Lost Ark was one of those momentous experiences during the 1980s where, not only did audiences cheer during the movie, they stood up and applauded at the end (Rambo:First Blood Part II and Die Hard were others) However, after reading the mixed reviews from people from my age group, it was with trepidation that I went to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I should have trusted my instincts and saved $10. It is better than National Treasure but much worse than the Mummy series and an empty shell compared to the original Indys. It is a by-the-numbers movie and Lucas, Spielberg and Ford are merely "going through the motions". It lacks both a heart and a soul.
