A good movie, it starts off slowly and drags on at times but the ending leaves you in a state of disbelief. Initially, you're on Christopher's side, no one can live your life for you and therefore it is important to do things that are right for you, however as the film progress, you realize that Chris is selfish having no regard for those who love him. He gave up his savings to feed the poor but on the other hand he was indulging in semi criminal activity by illegally hoping on trains, rafting illegally down rivers, and crossing state borders without identification. I can not stress it enough that "true freedom is living within boundaries". Was Chris looking for freedom or just running away from the past? We are designed for relationships. Chris loved the beauty and magnitude of nature, but I don't think he realized the powerful force of nature, the hand that guides our universe. Chris did it his way, but he did not do it God's way. The outcome of Chris' great adventure was very very sad.
