I really had to see for myself, well at least a slice of life of Jimi Hendrix's life in the period of 1967 -1968. This film might have been made with love and respect but there is nothing in it for me. Sure, like so many other pop/rock icons of the 60's we see a young musician about to break out as a legendary performer just to kill it all off with drugs, booze and death before 30. I have very little sympathy with the likes of Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, an original member of the Rolling Stones, Brian Jones, I believe and so many others. They made their bed and are now lying in it. It is very sad, but everyone has free will and decides what path he or she wants to take. Nothing or anything can stop these mono-maniacal characters. I believe this was one of the worst periods of American pop history. Devastating, yes... but I don't care for destructive humans knowing they are on a definitive, death path!
