    Khartoum

Khartoum is a very good historical drama set in Sudan in the 1800's. Charlton Heston plays Gordon a British military officer who has vast experience in getting things done right in dire situations. Laurence Olivier gives a very convincing performance as the "Mahdi" a self styled Muslim prophet who stirs up the tribes to fight the British for the control of the Sudan. An excellent action adventure, with a great supporting cast of some of the best British character actors. Khartoum is a timeless classic that really delivers the goods and how. Don't miss this one.
