Miami Vice is definitely not the appropiate title for this movie. A more suitable title could have been 'Blazing Miami'. There was lots of dark sets, plenty of sex and drama. There were only a few action sequences but they were done well. The movie itself flowed very nice and the pace was excellent. The major draw back is merely any connection to the original television show and characters. If you are watching this movie to bring back 1984... forget it. You'll have no such luck. This movie does not bring back 'Elvis' the Alligator or the pastel suits or even the 'no socks' with shoes look that we loved about the original show. The music score of the original was done much better than the present day version. With the exception of the opening song... the rest of the score was lacking. The move was still very good though. I was most impressed with the screen presence of Li Gong. She stole the movie. If you keep in mind that this movie is a modern day typical Cops vs. Drug Dealer flick... you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for any Retro Phil Collins tunes and Don Johnson cameo's, you're better off buying the Miami Vice box set.
