Joan Plowright is a dramatic actress who can play any role equally well. She is so delightful in this film in which she can basically be herself while musing with a wildly younger friend she has met at the Claremont. I would say it's a beautiful film for mature folk over 40. The film has a slowish pace. It's lovely not to see any of the demolition junk of today!
