Pacific Rim is "Godzilla" on steroids. This movie is such an assault on the senses that after awhile all the destruction of whole cities becomes boring and tedious. Although the design of this movie was out of this world the acting was predictable as was the story. I'm getting really tired of 3D effects that add very little to the story. Since "Avatar" there hasn't been one movie that has lived up to the spectacular 3D effects of that movie so why even bother if you are going to do a half assed job. Pacific Rim could have been much better but there really wasn't much of a story to work with. Blowing everything up just doesn't cut it. Much ado about nothing.
