I have to say that I really enjoyed "Paranormal Activity 2", and after seeing it, I was pleasantly surprised at how intricately woven it was with the original. In this sequel, we are given a better understanding of the events that happened before that lead up to the haunting. The story however, is brilliantly executed, immersing the viewer into its clever, yet simple, plot. I found too that many of the scary scenes in this film were more intensified and effective than they were in Paranormal Activity 1. Also, there seemed to be a lot more going on... more characters, situations, conflicts... the action was continuous. I like how in the beginning of the movie that the unknown force acts out minimally, then increasingly grows stronger each day... violently manifesting itself in the household as was done in the original. The scare tactics worked excellently in this production, and seemed a bit more serious this time around. I admit that they caught me off guard every time when I least expected it. There was no escaping that instantaneous reaction of jumping in my seat. I'm almost sure that I jumped more than anyone else did in the theater if that's even possible. As far as the acting goes, it's actually believable as though the actors are really putting their own feelings and emotions into their characters. I thought all of them did an amazing job. Also, the direction in the film is just as good as in "Paranormal Activity 1", although personally I find the visuals slightly better in this sequel. I'd like to add too, that you don't always need cheesy blood and gore tactics to scare you. Sometimes the best horror movies are the ones that show us very little... evoking fear on our psyche and making our imaginations run wild. So, if you liked "Paranormal Activity 1", you're sure to like it's sequel, maybe even more. Lastly, please bear in mind, that some of the content in this film may be very disturbing or upsetting to some. Overall," Paranormal Activity 2" is a great thrill ride... a creep fest you will not soon forget. Don't miss it!
