I know that Richard Pryor was considered a genius by almost all from his generation. For whatever reason, his comedy does not resonate with me and I truly do not laugh at his bits. This documentary obviously narrates all that was great about Pryor, but it doesn't convince me, perhaps as I already had a very clear mind set on Pryor, the man and comedian. He certainly made a mess of his life. Why are so many comedians tragic figures? The doc didn't move me enough to change my thinking of the man. But this is only one person's opinion. The vast majority would disagree with me on every count.
