    Satan Met a Lady

Satan Met a Lady was a remake of a 1931 Warner film, The Maltese Falcon, which was made again to great acclaim in 1941 by John Huston. The 1936 version is not very film worthy as it is pretty disconnected and lunatic in many of its aspects. It is a total waste of the talents of Bette Davis who was on the verge of taking Warner Brothers to court for giving her such horrendous projects. There seems to be no story in this '36 version without the benefit of a workable script. A farrago of nonsense!
