The third installment - and unfortunately not the last - in the Saw franchise is a poor attempt at character development two movies too late. After the first two films, the audience is now aware those movies try to mess with our perception and everything shown isnt necessarly what it seems as it is extremely manipulative and Saw iii is no different, but its getting more and more ridiculous. This time, Jigsaw, who has been dying since the very first film, really is on his death bed. He wants to play a game, well many games. A doctor is called in, she has to keep him alive while he watches another man playing, walking around, meeting people responsible in the death of his son, he can decide to let them die or not. The original film had an interesting concept that was wrongly executed. Now they are trying to redeem themselves, but seems like they cant even explore the themes they bring up themselves. They dont really question the morality of anything, even though they try. The acting is still just as ridiculous, anybody take themselves way too seriously. A quality all Saw movies have, is the image. I have to say, I always loved that type of pseudo decolorization, gives a gritty look, and it suits the film. Another quality the first two films had, but this one skipped, was a short running time, and I got bored pretty quickly with the stupidity of the plot, despite some very well-elaborated and gory death, which I'm sure pleased a lot of people.
