Don't miss it because of Carmen Ejogo's acting! She displayed such a different range of emotions. I liked the story line about going for and owning up to your dreams while learning not only from your mistakes but also from others. It might sound trite but it was worth being reminded of this simple truth. Fans of the Motown will be delighted since the musical acts and the costumes were delightful to watch. Whitney's acting was good, more close to what she delivered in the Preacher's wife. I think what makes this movie dear to me with regard to Whitney, is that she seemed "real". You could easily imagine her being that straightforward in real life with her loved ones: she was no poser at all in this movie, and I mean no disrespect but she has come a long way from the Bodyguard.
