Loving, homey drama of a family's struggles in the face of tough rural life. Henry Fonda and the beloved Maureen O'Hara are the mom and pop while a young James MacArthur (son of Helen Hayes) gives a sensitive performance as the son who will continue with his studies. I found the film very genuine and heartfelt. It's a small lovely film from Delmer Daves. You'll recognize some great names of the past if you are at all a movie buff.
