Step Up 3D

Click here to show this review. I'm rating it a 5 because the title said 3D so go watch it in 3D, if you feel the urge to see the movie. Otherwise, refrain unless you're a dance teacher! The 3D animations help endure the cheesy and mundane lines of the actors. They should have made a contest asking people to submit a storyline. I would have much enjoyed it if it were a silent movie, with the sound turned on only for the dance scenes which were really sick. With people like Alyson Stoner who has been teaching dance classes forever (and she's only 17) and Adam Sevani, what's the point of bringing those 2 hot people to be the leads? Oh, I get it: you can't sell anything nowadays if you don't have hot babes to market it. Talk about being more than a pretty face! Alyson Stoner was given one of the lamest roles in the history of dance movies when that girl is da bomb when it comes to hip hop dancing. Rick Malambri? Please!!! Yes, he's smoking steamy and his good looks did prevent me from snoozing from time to time. But c'mon!!! The guy can't dance: he was always in the background and I'm quite sure, in the last dance scene with Sharni Vison, it was a stand-in dancing with her since we couldn't see his face while dancing. It was good to see some of the candidates offrom the former seasons of SYTYCD but I don't think it served their talent to even make guest appearances in this movie. There shouldn't have been a third installment of Step Up, the 2nd one was repetitive enough in terms of storyline. This movie would have had more credits with Alyson Stoner and Adam Sevani being the lead actors since they were in the first two movies, are great dancers, are not that bad of actors and can definitely bring it on without even the need of an overrated love connection.
