If you didn't live under a rock during the 90s or know a little bit about the major historical events of that era, you won't need much background or expect any kind of plot evolution to understand and appreciate this movie. Beyond the historical dimension (caveat: some parts of the movie have been fictionalized, it's the Hollywood effect) and a glimpse into the daily life of war photographers, the film will make you question your humanity, in terms of how do we choose to express our disgust, indifference, courage or cowardice in the face of the unspeakable. Kudos to Taylor Kitsch for his portrayal of Kevin Carter. By the way, the movie is not for the squeamish (but it's worth it)
