(Spoiler Alert) What is it about horror movies these days? The old slasher pics from the 80's were violent but amusing in a twisted Bugs Bunny vs Elmer Fudd kind of way. Movies like this make me feel uneasy. Truthfully, 90% of The Hills Have Eyes is reminiscent of those 80's slasher flicks but it was the rape scene of a young girl that had me ready to shut off the DVD. I'm sorry but I have a hard time justifying the entertainment value of such a scene. I would be interested to know if that scene was in the original or it was added. If that kinda stuff doesn't bother you then you will probably enjoy the "lighter" moments this movie has to offer.
