The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Now one of the things we all tend to do when we mention The Hobbit is compare it to Lord of the Rings right away. In terms of plot, we have to keep in mind that LOTR was three books ad for an older audience whereas The Hobbit is a single book for a younger audience. Having said that, I think the movie was quite entertaining with some impressive battle scenes (isn't that one of the main thing we like about these movies) The acting was good and I love how Jackson tied the end of the film to the beginning of LOTR. As always, the soundtrack is amazing. The reason I am giving this movie an 8 rather than an 10 is because of the special effect. Except for the dragon, I found the CGI lacking at many important point. As movie in which a huge part is dependent on special effects, they should have put more money into it, or go old school like LOTR with full body makeup and edit it to make it more alive and realistic. Here, some things looked so fake it was quite laughable. LOTR, which was made a decade earlier, seemed to have more of that "unfake" component to it. Other than that, watch the movie, you will enjoy it!
