I was very excited to watch this but was really disappointed. I would have preferred to see more of Amin's actions in Uganda to depict his cruelty, rather than seeing his showcase his resorts to McAvoy for more than half of the movie (i. e. we get it! He's corrupted!) In terms of acting, Forest Whitaker did an excellent job, but McAvoy's character was hard to connect with. Portrayed as a dream-seeking casanova, he causes chaos due to personal ignorance and later flees to the detriment of others. Seriously? He should have been slapped around WAY more. The movie is not bad, and I would still recommend watching it, but I would not watch it again.
