The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Now this review is coming from someone who didn't read the books so that obviously changes my opnion of the movie. But I thought it was a typical teen movie with love triangles and drama which is what I had expected going in. The acting was better than Twilight, but I find you don't really get attached to the characters. I am a very sensitive person, and I only cared about one character in the movie. As well, for someone who hasn't read the books, the Shadow Hunters and their powers and such are not explained very well AT ALL. I wasn't bored watching the movie; I still wanted to find out what happened next, but I wouldn't say I was exactly ENTHRALLED. The best part of the movie was probably the final battle scene; it was very intense and fairly exciting. Nevertheless, I think it had more potential and could have been a lot better than it was. I wouldn't recommend it unless you love teen romance and drama, because my girlfriends all LOVED IT. And that's their kind of thing.
