In 1964 I was 15 years old. I went to see "The T. A. M. I. Show" at 9 o'clock in the morning at the the local "Paramount" theatre along with a few hundred screaming kids. It was during the time known as "The British Invasion" that started when the Beatles played the Ed Sullivan Show in New York city which was a variety television show on Sunday evenings which was a staple in practically every household in North America."The Teenage Music International Show" was basically the first full length movie which was actually a big music video. Hosted by teenage sensations Jan & Dean who were purveyors of the California Surf Sound. They presented groups like Billy J Kramer, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Supremes etc. These groups were essentially at the beginning of their careers and this movie was a vehicle to introduce them to a wider audience which by today's standards was a brilliant idea in mass marketing. This movie spawned music television shows in the U. S. like "Shindig" and Hullaballoo". A trip down memory lane for "Baby Boomer" crowd. Worth seeing for the archival footage. James Brown knocks it out of the park.
