The X-Files: I Want to Believe

The X-Files has been off the air for almost 10 years but unlike, say, the original Star Trek series, there hasn't been a big demand for another movie version. However, I was a huge fan of the show (I have it on Dvd)and I particularly like the standalone episodes, the type that this film has been advertised as. What a disappointment! There is a subplot where Scully has a crisis of conscience, but the main story involves a boring hunt for a serial killer. No new thematic ground is broken. There are no movie theatre-quality special effects. This film is unimaginative. If you want to see an excellent show about a serial killer, I recommend the highly acclaimed "Dexter" series on The Movie Network (and Dvd)
