There are a few reviews for this movie that point out the lack of connection to characters and emotions. I don't know about you, but having experienced an actual fire fight overseas, the actors looked pretty scared running from digitally made monster machines. To say, that it is easy to blow up things for two hours, shows just how one dimensional one is. The CGI, stunts and special effects were amazing. It is always a shame that the people behind this magic seem to always get forgotten. This movie, if anything, was their movie. They brought it to life and yes it is not the Godfather, but it is what it is, an amazing cartoon, comic book, toy advertisement that deserves a rating no less than a 7. It is movies like this that give movie studios the cash to give the green light to more emotionally deep character driven movies like Blue Valentine. If you actually think that big studios are not connected to small independent films, stay working as a coffee house dreamer and remember that guy/gal who is on their mac listening to you bash the movie they worked on as an animator is laughing inside as he moves $300,000.00 into their savings account.
