In my mind better than the John Wayne version and he got an Academy Award for it... so stayed tuned during the awards. Excellent screenplay that provided lots of character development. It may have even bordered on a bit too much as there were lapses in flow at times. Jeff Bridges was really good in this role with his natural mumbling fitting right in. Hailee Steinfield was terrific also (but a lot more articulate) Damon role was definitely supporting with somehat poorly defined character, yet good. The makeup and costumes were remarkably well done.
