Waterworld got roasted before it was even finished by critics who didn't know really what they were talking about. Even Kevin Kostner said it was an extremely difficult movie to make because of the unwillingness of the weather to cooperate with filming. A pretty good story about a post apocalyptic world that is largely covered by water has small bands of survivors living on man made atolls of rafts and boats strapped together to defend against marauders and high sea pirates. A story about man's ingenuity in the face of overwhelming odds against them. There were a lot of untrue misconceptions about Waterworld that were being spread around when it came out. Waterworld did not bomb at the boxoffice in fact it made $400 million dollars worldwide, not including what it did in home DVD sales. Solid performances from Kevin Kostner, Tina Majorino, Dennis Hopper and Jeanne Tripplehorn. Waterworld is definitely worth seeing.
