    52 Tuesdays

In this slightly controversial film "52 Tuesdays", a drama/doc, how true the expression is "what a difference a year makes." In this Sophie Hyde dramedy filmed over the course of a year a mother and daughter share some time together once a week. The rather unconventional method of filming tells the story of this mother's GENDER TRANSITION and her time with her daughter on each and every Tuesday for a year, thus the title.

I won't call this a bad film as it is not, but we are now being inundated with so much gay and trans films that they all seem to blend into one. I'm an ultra liberal father of 2 who would want a world where gay sexuality and trans gender issues would be in accordance with what each and every person needs.

But in the U. S., speaking about North America, this measure of equality is never going to be fully realized because of a Republican Congress and Republican Rednecks who will fight to the death to see these people, whom they hate, with equal rights... even though it would not impact on their own personal lives in any way. It is just another chapter of hate and why hate crimes are still happening all over America, the so-called land of the free.

My 5 stands because as a film, as stated, there is too much material duplicated on gay and trans rights. The cause is a good one but I am judging the film alone.
