This movie has been so highly overrated it's mind boggling. And don't get me wrong I enjoy smaller "artsy" type movies as well as the run of the mill Hollywood stuff. I loved Whiplash but for everything that Whiplash did right this movie did wrong. It is so incredibly boring and mundane and repetitive. Giving Keaton Telekinetic powers? WTF? Right there the movie loses any credibility for being a small art house theatre movie. And Emma Stone is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen. Pass on this movie.

I could not figure out if the character actually had telekinetic powers or if that was just part of his delusions.
Yes it was confusing I thought that perhaps it was part of his mental breakdown but at the end when Emma looks up and smiles seems to say otherwise.
You certainly missed a great deal of this film even though you admit to having watched it. The flying and kinetic powers were in his head (the characterization of his famous Birdman role) This a great film not a little artsy type. A breath of fresh air to an industry fraught with mechanical visual effects and redundant dialogue. [...]
