When I saw the title BLIND DATE, I presumed it was a comedy and boy was I wrong. The wonderful Stanley Tucci did triple work in this film: he wrote it, directed it and starred in it with the luminous, brilliant Patricia Clarkson. As the title tells you the movie is about a blind date or more precisely BLIND DATES. There is a voice over in the film that you must listen to with care. So these two people go on these blind dates, all a masquerade for something tragic that has happened in their lives. The musical score or songs, all in Spanish are very carefully chosen and have significance. As with any blind date there really is nothing but chatter. However, this small indie will come to devastate you and break your heart. Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson are so superb in their roles that it is fruitless to say anything else. This film touched me to the very core and I know it will bring tears to any eyes who view this remarkable film that touches on many human problems with a devastating pain. This is a film that should be seen.
