I saw this with my eight year old twin grandkids. They loved the original and we all had high hopes for this one but it was a disappointment. The animation was the best I've ever seen, and the "vista" shots were outstanding in their detail, but the STORY was not successful. This was just a James Bond movie with cars instead of people and, worse still, a lot of propaganda about how evil petroleum supposedly is. Preachy movies are always too long and boring, and this one was no exception. It is way too long for little kids, the "plot" was aimed at adults, and there was entirely too much going on in terms of story line. Once again, the makers of a movie tried to be all things to all people and ended up being nothing to anyone. Pixar needs to rethink its "mission" and return to its roots. I don't recommend it except for the really stunning animation.
