The idea is great. The scenes stunning at times. Entertaining throughout. And it kept your mind engaged following the multiple stories. Jim Broadbent was award worthy. The performances by Halle Berry, Doona Bae, Jim Sturgess were also well done. An incredible movie that would have got a 10 if not for the horrendous acting of Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant. Even the scenes with Sarandon seemed ridiculously poorly done. The costumes were great, but I couldn't understand why some makeup was done so well and at other times was so poor. For example, Sarandon as a native witchdoctor still had pearly white teeth and lipstick, did she not want to get dirty? In other scenes the makeup was so poor you could see the folds in the plastic flexing. Were they trying to be funny? I like Tom Hanks and his acting ability but was not sold on casting him in this roll, perhaps Mel Gibson or Kevin Costner would have been a better choice. All in all a great movie that needs to be seen to be believed.
