    Deux jours, une nuit

Jean-Pierre Dardenne seems to be a lucky star for Marion Cotillard who somehow pulled off an Oscar Nomination for Two Days, One Night. It's not as if she doesn't deserve the nod, but when ignored by literally all Film Critics Groups, SAG and The Golden Globes, I thought it was curtains for her. And the phoenix rises from the ashes. This film with its weighty issues and a great female performance might remind some of Sally Field and her grand performance in NORMA RAE which covers similar ground: hardships and struggles in life are and always have been global issues. Cotillard in The Immigrant of 2014 was just as fierce but with the Oscars you get nominated for one film alone unlike Critic Groups that can site 2 or 3 great performances from 1 artist in a single year.
