I'll just say it right now, Enemy is the strangest, weirdest, creepiest and most confusing movie I've ever seen. That being said, it is also one of the most interesting and intriguing. Jake Gyllenhaal does an absolutely incredible job as his characters. I could say that this is one of the greatest performances I've seen in a long time. The supporting cast is surprisingly really great and the overall performances are all superb. This movie is beautiful. The cinematography and lighting are perfect for the tone that the film is going for. If you ever want to do lighting for a living, see this movie. It was extremely well shot and Dennis Villeneuve did an absolutely freaking amazing job! The story of this movie... Wow... I really can't explain how bizarre it is. It starts out confusing, the middle is confusing and the end is more confusing than the rest of the movie combined times ten! I immediately looked up theories and explanations of the ending and the film as an entirety as soon as the movie ended. This movie is definitely not for everyone. I saw this with my dad and he liked it for the most part, but hated the ending. I see where he's coming from and I would only recommend this movie to film lovers and people who wouldn't mind a movie where they have to think for a long time. OVERALL: Enemy is a movie that does not follow any film standards. It is unique, beautiful and brilliant. Even if the movie is incredibly confusing and weird, it is very well done in every way.
