    Flamingo Road

This drama with plenty of romance teems Joan Crawford with her Oscar Winning director Michael Curtiz and co-star, Oscar nominated Zachary Scott, who gave such a powerful performance in, MILDRED PIERCE. The film was made in 1949 and from all accounts was not a big hit. However, it was a gutsy role for Crawford who plays a dancer stuck in some god forsaken country. (her debut in film started back in 1925 in Our Dancing Daughters.) Her encounters with three men, 2 being amorous make up the meat of the film. Crawford is always at her engaging best whether playing the good girl or the naughty one. She had charisma as this film amply shows.
