Well, what can I say? For art lovers, this movie is a 10/10, but for anyone who doesn't hold the same appreciation or fascination for art in general would not find this very stirring. I went to see it with my boyfriend, a computer geek, and he was still waiting for the plot to develop at the end of the film, while I, the art fiend, was blown away. The acting is subdued, the cinematograhpy is oscar-winning, the music enchanting. The decor, costume and everything related to the period looked seemlessly perfect (including the way food is handled, have supper before seeing the movie! ) Overall I enjoyed it very much, but the ending did leave me on the brink, not very conclusive. And the pace is slow, beware action-lovers! A good drama, can't wait to read the book!
