How to Die in Oregon is a pretty frightening documentary in my eyes, one I very deliberately wanted to see... to try and understand what "this dying with dignity" truly means. The Oregon law on assisted suicide is an emotionally charged issue, one that can be debated back and forth till Kingdom Come. I saw my dad die in agony yet I could never support this piece of legislature. It comes down to your faith, the moral values you were taught from childhood and every blessed issue about the sanctity of life. Everyone has strong opinions on this very dividing issue. I don't wish MY above statement to sound so rigid and dogmatic as to make me appear callous and unfeeling. I respect those who choose as they do, but, in turn, one must respect others' opinions. My views on the subject have obviously affected my low number.
