I might sound insensitive, but I shed few if any tears for the hundreds of people who destroy themselves at a young age due to wanting it all, no self discipline, playing the field too heavily and in short, not dealing with a full deck. This describes Chris Farley pretty accurately as it describes the many, many others who have preceded him to a very early grave. The doc tries to tell a bittersweet story of one of the most innovative, lovable comedians before dying of an overdose at thirty-three. You will hear all about his bold, energetic and in your face comedy style that cemented his place on the comedy stage, on SNL and in movies. But very little is said of his really ridiculous bad boy ways. I was a late teen when he died and remember full well the hard, very hard living life he led from day to day, maintaining it till the hour he died. I did not find him funny, rather a pathetic creature who was trying too, too hard to become the next great comedic talent in the vein of John Belushi. Well! He got his wish in part. Both died in the same ignominious way by overdosing. It's all very tragic but sad that the up and comers learn very little from the gross mistakes of their predecessors.

I haven't seen this movie or heard of it until now. But I found your "review" quite articulate and insightful. Thanks.
Thanks for the compliment. Very gracious of you. If you don't know Chris Farley well, I wouldn't bother seeing it. Despite the good things said of Farley, the doc depressed the hell out of me!
