    Kings Row

King's Row was such a blockbuster film starring Ann Sheridan, Robert Cummings, Betty Field, Charles Coburn, Claude Rains Judith Anderson and more... leaving the name of Ronald Reagan as last in his starring tole as someone strangely coming out of surgery. To my mind it is the only role Ronald Reagan somehow became a legitimate actor and delivered a fantastic performance. Most of his other work is not worth much. This coming of age story in a 19th century American town worked perfectly. Warner Brothers had all the talent they needed to pull off this huge undertaking from the best seller. Besides the stars, Warner's Classical Composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold delivered big time as did the amazing Oscar Winning James Wong Howe with superb photography.
