Kingsman: The Secret Service

I had the pleasure to attend a super advanced screening of a movie I was very excited for! The trailers looked fantastic and I heard that the graphic novel the movie is based on is amazing. It is also directed by Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass (one of my favourite films)! On top of that, it has a cast that's to die for. Well, I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but Kingsman: The Secret Service is one of the most entertaining and smart action movies I think I've ever seen!

THE GOOD:

+ The cast is PERFECT. Colin Firth gives an surprisingly heartfelt performance. He is hysterical and plays the perfect classy spy. Michael Cane, though not in the film too much, plays a fun character. Samuel L. Jackson is the major standout here though. His villain is hilarious and super unique! Taron Egarton, the lead, is actually really good and I'm looking foreword to seeing more of him in the future!

+ The writing is some of the best I've ever seen for an acton film. It is frequently hysterical and smart, with some dramatic moments that actually made me emotional. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time.

+ Matthew Vaughn directs some of the BEST and most gory action in years. It's bloody and absolutely insane! There is one scene in a church that makes Kill Bill look like The Oogieloves.

+ The characters are fun and relatable. None of them every get annoying or too absurd.

+ The musical score is surprisingly AMAZING! It reminded me of the Avengers in many ways.

+ I can't believe how good the cinematography was. Vaughn shot this movie to perfection.

+ The pace is supersonic. Just when you think things are beginning to slow down, it speeds up even more! The movie is never boring and features some of the most entertaining moments I've had at the movies in ages!

Overall Kingsman: The Secret Service is one of the biggest surprises in years! It has breathtaking action, hilarious dialogue, great characters, a superb musical score, terrific cinematography and is a bloody good time at the movies! SEE IT!
