    Lady in a Cage

Oliva De Havilland, now 98, Ann Sothern whom I much enjoyed and a young James Caan star in a film that might have been labelled a B film in the 1940's. Nevertheless, it is a thriller that is entertaining and does work though the cage in the title happens to be the confines of an elevator. I loved, from looking at old posters, the way the film was advertised: " a film not for the weak and perhaps not even for the strong." Hollywood has always had its ways of selling tickets, be it the 1920's, 40's, 60's and for damn sure today, when every bit of trickery is attempted to promote many films which are pure garbage. In any case, I enjoyed this film though it is hardly a masterpiece. I was going for a 6 but changed my mind to a 7 as the actors make it all worth while!
