Let's see - she is engaged to a passionate workaholic who is madly in love with her, and she with him. She meets an obnoxious self-absorbed insensitive English prig who doesn't seem to have a passionate breath in his body. They don't seem to have anything in common but a mutual revulsion for each other. But she shows some cleavage, so they fall madly in love, she dumps the fiance, and they live happily ever after. A true fairy tale, because it has nothing to do with reality.

    So why a 6 and not a 2?

Good question. The inevitable love interest was the part that really put me off; but the film had many good bits. Nice atmosphere, nice scenery, and some good acting, Redgrave was good, and Seyfried as well. The dialogue was good and not stilted or unbelievable for the most part. There were many bits of insight and good observation of behavior. So the inevitable plot resolution was a turnoff, but this was nevertheless a movie with many commendable parts. Sort of a Beatrice and Benedick without the Shakespearean language skills.
