Machete

Viva la raza! Viva la reconquista! This maniacal action flick is "torn from today's (American) headlines. It's also torn from today's comic books... and Playboy magazine. It has it all: people being sliced, diced, eviscerated, shot to pieces and barbecued; half-naked babes with guns, nuns with guns, totally naked babes with, uh, really lovely smiles! It's got desecration of churches, misuse of gardening tools, abuse of drugs, low-rider chicano gangs, low-brow gringo xenophobe gangs, hot cars and did I mention the hot babes? It has extremely realistic violence, extremely unrealistic violence, and even some surrealistic violence. It has enough violence to shock Sam Peckinpah and Quentin Tarentino. It has sardonic humour, cynical humour, and just plain silly humour. It even has a bit of a plot line. Plus it has some really hot babes. Or did I mention that already? What this flick does not have is serious artistic merit, but if you just want to see a better action flick than that recent Stallone disaster, this is the place to put your money. I know that I shouldn't have enjoyed this movie, but I couldn't help it; it was funny in a very cynical way and the cast was a notch higher than in the average action flick. And it had some really hot babes.
