    Me Before You

Me Before You was quite moving, despite the omissions of the real nitty-gritties of living with a disability,  Spoiler alert - click to reveal textand the subject of assisted suicide. Some realism might have anchored the narrative more securely, as the feel of the film was more like a fantasy, given the extreme wealth of some of the characters. Emilia Clarke’s performance was more suited to theatre than film, as her emoting was a bit over the top, but she was so compelling, it didn’t matter at all. She carried the piece competently. The story was a bit formulaic though not overly sentimental. All in all, a nice fluff piece from an industry that loathes to be authentic.
