A lot of people are giving this movie 8's, 9's and 10's and I can understand why. The story is interesting, the acting was pretty good and there were a number of amusing scenes. What really detracted from the movie for me were the number of scenes where the director focuses on Brad Pitt simply reflecting on the dilemma at hand. These scenes are 30 to 45 seconds a piece and there are so many of them scattered throughout the film that they become superfluous and kill the pace of the story-telling. Among the high praise for this film you will also see comments about it being boring too long or too slow and this is why. I enjoyed the movie but was disappointed because I think a lot of these scenes could have and should have been left on the editing room floor. It's only my opinion, but I believe a little more editing and the director would have ended up with a better movie.
