Scientology on steroids, is that weird or what? What else does a guy like Tom prefer but brainwashing and clones? The movie makes no sense in the end since the dots are not connected and the morality message is a bit much to take, coming as it does from what looks to be Ron Hubbard's methodology and philosophy regarding how to live one's life. Even Morgan Freeman can't save this hollywoodism. Are we supposed to believe that clones share the same soul therefore are able to remember a common, or each other's past lives? What? Never mind about that but because they are clones the killing of them means nothing to the brainwashed or to the Wizard of Oz-like god/machine orbiting the planet who controls the clones and drones... sounds like some kind of bad twenty-something rock band, more like clowns and hounds but nevermind, the twenty-somethings will love this movie, brainwashed as they are. The drones doing all the hunting and killing are similar to the pods in 2001: A Space Odessey but with machine guns where the arms of the pod are supposed to be. You'd have thought that the master of this universe could have come up with a better design, perhaps someone from MIT could have saved the day! The "God" of these clones orbits the planet in what looks to be an upside down truncated pyramid (design again?) who turns out to be an omnipotent computer/machine with a Texas accent from another galaxy, dimension, or who knows where? Why Texan? Well, I guess we can be thankful it isn't regal sounding, as in the Queen's English as these things usually go. A little far-fetched, which is why the scientology connection seems to be the most prevalent idea present in the "message". Typically when a sci-fi movie doesn't have a clear goal where it's going, they often resort to and hide in generalities, allusive statements and time-travel and this one does not disappoint, which makes even less sense than it otherwise would, y'know, like this message which was really written before the movie was made. Take it or leave it.
