An interesting and thought-provoking film. Contrary to the hype, it is not really a travelogue, but at the same time the film doesn't make a great deal of sense unless one recognizes the various locations across Canada -- and there are no overt indications to identify them for the uninitiated. I thought the acting was excellent. As Ben Tyler, Joshua Jackson provides an understated, contained portrayal of, to my mind, an archtypical Canadian man in turmoil. As his fiance, Liane Balaban likewise provides an understated but very honest portrayal of a woman whose life has been upset by her fiance's turmoil. An interesting physchological study; well worth seeing.
