    Oranges and Sunshine

A sad but all too real drama about Margaret Humphreys, an English social worker who inadvertently finds herself in a dilemma when confronted by a grown woman demanding to know who she is and who is her mother. This simple premise leads Jim Loach into a well told story, a very touching one about thousands of British orphans who were deported to Australia. The ENTIRE movie consists of the unraveling of this enormous British scandal that had been buried from view for decades on end. Something very different but significant. A beautiful change from all the drab action films, horror flicks and sci-fi junk we have to endure.
