    Pillow Talk

A sensation on its release in 1959, this film is now still fun but horribly dated with the change in mores in 2016 society that makes 1959 values seem like the rock ages. Still Doris Day is perky, fun and elegantly displayed in her Oscar Nominated role. Rock Hudson plays it to the hilt and is almost the complete antithesis of the roles that came before this classic comedy of manners. Tony Randall is in the film to off play the so-called stud Rock happens to be. In an Academy Nominated performance, Thelma Ritter is hilarious as the drunken housekeeper sloshed day in day out as she rides the elevator to Miss Day's suite. Worth seeing to observe how the world has radically changed in the 57 years since its release... and not all for the good.
