Johnny Depp did his best to play this role well. Christian Bale was ok. The sad part was the rest of the cast and story wasn't up to the caliber it should have been. I found the photography annoying when they bounce the camera around, which created difficulties focusing on the picture. Why they do this is beyond me. This annoyed me. Sad to say, but I fell asleep because the first 3/4 of it didn't capture my interest. The ending was stimulating, but overall I was disappointed. On a positive note, I was happy to learn some history and they captured the 1930s very well.
