Creepy, gruesome and highly atmostpheric, this movie has many moments, sights and sounds reminiscent of the games (AFAiK... I only played some of SH2) However the plot is not particularly comprehensible... the writer seems to be attempting to hammer elements of The Grudge and The Cell together to create a rationale of the whole Silent Hill 'universe' that doesn't seem very convincing. The metaphysical elements of Rose's search and ultimate fate aren't particularly convincing either. If you're a fan of the games you may get a kick out of it... if you just want to see a good horror movie, keep looking.

The whole thing was about spirit fighting for redemption when they were actualy the sinners. Once you understand that, you figure out that rose and the gentle part of sharon are left only to wander in the world of spirit freed from her angry part.
