The considerable hype and promotion of this film distorts the viewing somewhat, of course, and it's with a thankfull exhale that it's not horrible. There is cultural history here that they're playing with. If you take a moment post film to assess, though, you will likely come to the conclusion that it has virtually all been done before. And with detailed hind site and narrative analysis you will be right. From that perspective alone it is a disappointment unless you don't know or have forgotten the first three episodes. The context is well done, the new key characters are interesting and well acted, even the demise of a key character is, emotionally, a bit shocking, but it's lacking in creative originality and therefore remains average. Perhaps future episodes will aim for more creative heights.
