A very interesting film. Yes, it is another film about Alzheimer's disease and, yes, it seems very slow moving especially early on. But this film is not about the loss and devastation caused by Alzheimer's disease; it is about the love that endures despite the disease, about an old man who genuinely cares about his wife, and who uses his gifts and skills to try to make a better life for her in her declining years. James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold are absolutely superb in the title roles, very ably supported by the actors who play their friends and children. Beautiful cinematography in New Brunswick and Northern Ontario. And nice to see an unabashedly Canadian film, set in Canada and produced in Canada by Canadians.
